Spring is here and it’s time for a fresh look at things. Out with the old baggage we’ve been carrying around and in with new ideas. Maybe not new to the world but new to us. We’ve all been to dozens if not hundreds or thousands of shows and seen tens of thousands of exhibits. Let’s talk about the best things we’ve seen at other events and how we might adapt them for our own shows or exhibits.

What stood out to you at the last show you went to? Maybe it wasn’t even a show…maybe it was your Aunt Esther’s 80th birthday party. Something that made you stop and say, “Hey! That’s really cool.”

We want to gather the best of the best of the best things we’ve seen and pass them around and see if someone can’t create their next–best exhibit ever or best show ever.

The best thing I ever experienced at a cocktail event was champagne served in the elevator on the way up to the penthouse. First, it was a great way to set the stage and tell attendees they were welcome guests. Second it cut down on those long bar lines when everyone first rushes in to grab a drink. I always remember that and try to think…what can I do as soon as an attendee walks into my event that will make them feel like a guest?

Cheers!
